For years rAndom International have inspired me. They’ve taken the technology and placed in in the real world as an added dimension through which we can discover new senses and kinds of experience.
As a form of conceptual art they build questions of futurity, self and our interrelationship with the world through their constructions. Questions of a purely phenomenological level in these relations. They, in some sense remind me of a book called ‘The Poetics of Space’ which explores the qualities of sensory experience in the spaces around us. They’ve mixed technology, kinetic sense, real people and explored a dimension of experience in its pure form.
Their art also points in many respects to the future of our own selves and the kinds of experience we can anticipate in the future.
